I have spent some more hours on the problem and basically it is a combination of two factors: Thanks for the replies: this is just a tiny part of the city to show that I am separating international and local cargo and how huge my loop towards a cargo station is. (The screenshot is underground, because most of my cargo train lines are "downstairs". Make the single trains transport more items or change the train behaviour: but this is a real fun killer. I love your game: but there has to be done something about this cargo train situation. After a few hours, the circle starts again. Then I spent thousands building even more train lines around existing train lines. This is really annoying and takes the fun out of the game: my city works beautifully up to the next big congestion when shops close down since they get no more goods because the trains get stuck. Still: everything gets totally congested, no matter how many other train lines and additional train lines I build: it works for some time, but at some point also these get congested, the trains block each other no matter how many new routes I build. Mylocal train lines are looooooong, around every local cargo station there are loooong ways around for trains, that go to other stations.
I have connected my industrial and bigger commercial areas by a local internal, separated cargo station network that is not connected at any point to the international cargo lines.Īll the cargo train lines are totally separated from passenger train lines. I have created isolated cargo train stations for the international freight trains to come in. My favourite city has now up to 250.000 inhabitants. What keeps annoying me (and as I have read: a lot of other users) is the way, cargo trains behave.
As we all do here: I love this game and spend a lot (too much.) time with it.
